Gerontology Student Organization

The Gerontology Student Organization was established in Fall 2007. The next meeting will be held on:

The organization is open to students and professionals with an interest in gerontology, aging studies, and related fields.

Purpose of the Organization

1. Expand areas of Gerontology via education, research, and updates to assimilate information and issues regarding the aging population and how the GSO can help address those needs.
2. Raise awareness of the needs of the aging and provide information to further knowledge of others about aging through speakers and meetings.
3. Promote the idea of gerontology certificate or degree on campus
4. Networking, internship, job potential for gerontologists, further education and group activities
5. Research and evaluate ways to provide services to growing senior population to both age in place and age gracefully without becoming prohibitively expensive.
