The Gerontology Student Organization was established in Fall 2007. The next meeting will be held on:

The organization is open to students and professionals
with an interest in gerontology, aging studies, and related fields.
Purpose of the Organization
- Expand areas of Gerontology via education, research, and updates to
assimilate information and issues regarding the aging population and
how the GSO can help address those needs.
- Raise awareness of the needs of the aging and provide information to
further knowledge of others about aging through speakers and meetings.
- Promote
the idea of gerontology certificate or degree on campus
- Networking, internship,
job potential for gerontologists, further education and group activities
- Research
and evaluate ways to provide services to growing senior population to
both age in place and age gracefully without becoming prohibitively expensive.
